• Naomi "Nao" Yokozawa (横沢ナオミ)
  In the original version of FF, Naoko Ooishi (大石直子), of course.  In the latest version, nee Naomi Featherstonehaugh.
  The first of the kitsune-mochi in the Featherstonehaugh lineage.  Lucasta's mother and Nami's grandmother.
• Lucasta Macdonald (ルカスタ・マクドナルド)
  Nao's daughter, Nami's mother.  There are no big plans for her character at the moment, but she's still there.
• Naomi "Nami" Macdonald (ナオミ・マクドナルド)
  Heroine.  In the original version of FFII, Namiko (波子).

The household kitsune [all names should probably be run past a native speaker if this were ever to go public, or, alternately, if this story is to move to America, the Mother fox and her side of the family could all have English-derived names instead]:

• Kochou (戸鳥) - Mother Fox
• Jinkonin (壬虍儿) - Father Fox, younger relative of Jingo
• Kokuha (戸口巴) - Kochou's younger sister, aunt to the kits
• Koyuu (戸邑) - Kochou's daughter
• Kosui (戸隹) - Kochou's daughter
• Kosuiketsu (戸隹頁) - Kochou's son

Other dramatis personae [although many of these names should probably be changed to something more in keeping with the latest rendition of Foxfire]:

• Jingo (壬虎)
  AKA in the past as Jin Mamiya (間宮任).  He has probably has several other identities in the interim to disguise the fact he doesn't age in a human fashion.
• Shuuichi Tanaka (田中秀一) / Gyokkogetsu (玉古月)
• Hiromi Kikuchi (菊地広美) - local vet
• Hikari (光)
• Isaku Ooishi (大石依作) - Nao's brother
• Natuska Fukami (深見なつか) - Nao's cousin
